1. Make a Giant Toad PosterThis craft idea is fun for individual children or for classroom projects. Get a large piece of poster board to use as a backdrop for a collage.
Have the children cut out their finished Toad character and glue it to the poster board. More than one poster board may be needed, depending on the number of children.
If just one child is making the poster, multiple coloring pages can be used to make the collage. The blank spaces in between each Toad can be decorated with crayons or markers.
2. Give an Old Comic Book a New LookA favorite comic book may have lost its cover over time, and a coloring page is a perfect replacement.
Simply laminate the coloring page and staple it to the front of the comic book for a whole new look!
3. Decorate Plain Gift BagsA finished Toad coloring page can be used to decorate a plain, brown gift bag. This is easy to do with a glue stick or clear packing tape.
For a fun twist, the Toad picture can be wrapped in equal parts to partially cover two sides of the gift bag instead of just the entire front.
You can also print several coloring pages in smaller sizes to decorate the bag with multiple images.
4. Create a Toad Door SignAll children enjoy putting signs on their bedroom doors. If your child is a Toad or Nintendo fan, this craft is a winner!
Get a piece of sturdy corkboard or even a thin piece of wood, and attach the finished coloring page with glue or adhesive, whichever is appropriate.
Multicolored pom-poms can be glued around the page to add a blast of video game color, and the finished project can be hung on the inside or outside of the child’s bedroom door.
5. Make a Video Game ScrapbookChildren who adore Super Mario will have fun making their own video game scrapbook. This craft is as easy as attaching pages together with staples or paper fasteners.
The Toad page can be the cover, and other coloring pages can be added to create a commemorative book of any length desired.
It can be a few pages, depicting some of the child’s favorite characters, or a lengthier project, where some of the pages feature the child’s “highest score ever” and similar facts.
6. Make a Unique Ring Binder CoverIf your child uses a ring binder for school activities or for other things, why not repurpose that Toad coloring page for a sleek new cover?
Simply take the finished page and use glue or adhesive tape to attach it to the front of the ring binder. Then add a clear laminating sheet to keep it looking new!
7. Laminate a Desk DrawerIf your child has a desk with a small drawer or two, use a finished Toad coloring page to line the bottom.
Simply use a small amount of glue to affix the finished coloring page to the bottom of the drawer. It may take multiple coloring pages, depending on the drawer’s size, but that’s even better.
Your child will find this lots of fun, and it may even motivate him or her to keep the drawers organized!
8. Make a Tiny Gift BoxA Toad coloring page is a perfect item to fold into a tiny gift box.
Elmer’s white glue works best for this craft, and any size box can be made, depending on the size coloring page you print.
For a fun spin on this, each child can put a secret message on a piece of paper and seal it up in the box in advance.
9. Use Toad to Decorate a ClassroomToad coloring pages can be used to decorate a classroom, but with a twist! Have each child go “outside the box” with his or her pattern.
In other words, instead of coloring Toad in the classic way, let the youngsters give the character a whole new look.
Kids will have lots of fun comparing all the variations once the coloring pages are hung!
10. Use Embellishments to Turn a Coloring Page into a Work of ArtForget the crayons, and have all the children in the classroom choose other ways to complete their coloring sheet.
For example, use glitter glue for one part, felt for another area of the page, and add pom poms or craft batting to give certain sections that “3D” look.
Finish up by framing these unique coloring pages so they can be preserved!
